Laurence Hutchman – “Two Maps Of Emery” (Black Moss Press)
It was great to have finally have had Laurence Hutchman in the studio last night. Have been trying to set up an interview with him for quite some time. I first met Laurence at the Art Bar as I was hosting one of the nights he read, and then would later feature with Laurence at the Lit Live Reading series in Oakville. Laurence is a truly sweet guy, whose written a poetic recollection and historical account of where he grew up. He read a few poems from “Two Maps Of Emery” (Black Moss Press) last night and talked about his experiences in writing the book with passion and emotion. It was a true pleasure to have sat down to talk to him.

Mark Ripp – Album – “Under The Circumstances”
Having Mark in the studio was a really beautiful thing. Mark was a part of the old east end artists community in the beaches that met at the old bar Sirens for “Sirens Salon.” I still have Mark’s first demo tape, and have always been a huge fan of his music, and thankful to him for the support and inspiration he has provided within the community. When I found out that he had a new record, I just had to have him on. Mark’s interview was comfortable, at times perhaps a little too comfortable, there was a lot of familiarity there, but we did bear down and talk about music, the song writing process, the value of his bandmates, and the precious aspect of family also contributing to the album. “Under The Circumstances” is a very cool listen, some honest raw rockin’ tunes mixed in with a little bit of country sentiment.
